So, I had the idea, but now where do we go?  I love writing, and I love sharing truths about God, so maybe we should start there.  The blog title is ” Abundant Grace”, but what is grace, exactly?  I’m glad you asked.

Grace is God’s goodness towards those who deserve only punishment, or God’s unmerited favor.  Because we are completely unable to earn favor with God, the only way we could be declared righteous is if God freely provides salvation for us by grace, totally apart from our work.*

“Since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, they are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption which is Jesus Christ.” (Romans 3:23-24, emphasis mine)

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God – not because of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9, cf. Titus 3:7, emphasis mine)

We are not accepted before the Lord because of anything that we do here on Earth.  We are justified because Jesus Christ died on the cross, and took our pain, so we do not have to suffer!  If we are going to use this blog as a place to share stories of God’s grace, I can’t think of a better place to start than the ultimate grace-filled gift.  Christ died so you and I could spend eternity with Him in Heaven!  It doesn’t get any better than that!

I have decided to start a new journey.  I never expected to be launching my own blog (mostly because I don’t think I’m that interesting), until I realized that there were times that I wanted to shout from the rooftops about God’s mercy and kindness.  Thus, my idea from this blog.  I intend to post regularly about the things that the Lord is doing in my life, and I would love it you would share the same!  I want to share areas in which I am growing , but I also want to share parts of my life.  Keep checking back here to find silly stories, recipies, new photographs, and random reviews of movies, music, and books.  Reviews are basically my personal opinion about…well, whatever I see, hear, or read!  Please feel free to come and share prayer requests, praise reports, and anything in between that can help us grow in love and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour.  Welcome to Abundent Grace!
